What data we collect

We collect no personal data. Specifically:

• City searches are sent directly to the Open-Meteo API to retrieve a forecast. Search queries are not stored on our servers.
• We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
• We do not collect your name, email address, or IP address.
• We do not sell, trade, or share any data with third parties.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they view. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-first by design — it does not use cookies, does not track individuals across sites, does not collect IP addresses or personal identifiers, and is compliant with GDPR and CCPA. Third-party services

How Is My Weather uses the following external services to function:

• Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) — provides weather forecast data. Your city's coordinates are sent to their servers to retrieve conditions. Open-Meteo is an open-source, non-commercial service. Their terms.
• Nominatim / OpenStreetMap (nominatim.openstreetmap.org) — used to convert city names into geographic coordinates (geocoding) and coordinates back into place names (reverse geocoding). OSM privacy policy.
• RainViewer (rainviewer.com) — provides precipitation radar map tiles.
• Google Fonts — font files are loaded from Google's CDN, which may log your IP address per Google's standard policies. Google privacy policy.
• Cloudflare — this site is hosted on Cloudflare's global network. Cloudflare processes web requests as part of normal hosting operations. Cloudflare privacy policy.

Location

If you use the "locate me" feature, your browser requests your device's GPS coordinates. These are sent directly to Open-Meteo to retrieve weather and to Nominatim to convert them to a city name. Coordinates are not stored on our servers. You can deny location access at any time — the site works equally well with a manual city search.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially we will update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
